The 'right' to vote
On the local precient level, all types of 'questionable' things take place. Oh say, accidentally knocking over an opponent's campaign signs, things like that.
But when elections and politicans who have National recognition (or former politicans) speak on voting, a certain level of ethics is expected.
Or should be...................
Mike Huckabee. A former Governor. A former Republican Presidetial candidate. A preacher.
'“Make a list… Call them and ask them, ‘Are you going to vote on Issue 2 and are you going to vote for it?’ If they say no, well, you just make sure that they don’t go vote. Let the air out of their tires on election day. Tell them the election has been moved to a different date. That’s up to you how you creatively get the job done.”

US Representive Peter King. The 'good old days' when only over 21 year old white men who owned property could vote.
No women. No non whites. No one who didn't own land.
'As I roll this thing back and I think of American history, there was a time in American history when you had to be a male property owner in order to vote. The reason for that was, because they wanted the people who voted — that set the public policy, that decided on the taxes and the spending — to have some skin in the game'.

Actually two evenly matched teams. Seattle is not a good road team but even if they start Jackson, if it's not going well by half time, I think they put Whitehurst in and win.
San Diego at NY Jets - Pick - San Diego
Yes the Jets just won. Yes their offence is better then the Chargers but San Diego is on a roll. Had a week off. Slow start and then they hit their stride in the second half.
Not a game of the week but could be a very good one.
Chicago at Tampa Bay - Pick - Tampa Bay
I'm thinking the loopsided San Fran thing was a fluke.
Washington at Carolina - Pick - Washington
Washington fell apart against Phily but no, I ain't doing it. Not going to pick Carolina. Now watch them win.

Although a lot of teams will learn a lot form the San Fran-Det film.

GOP - Cutting The Size Of Government
It makes sense in a bad economy that people cut back on expences when they can. Taking the train vs. driving your car.
Here in the Northe West, Spokane in particular we don't have 'train' service as such. Go to the East Coast and you'll know and experience first hand how it is very necessary to have these 'trains' in order to move millions of people every day.
So it would make sense that when more and more people are needing and using trains, we would keep and maybe even increase the funding.
Government helping people.
'Amtrak officials announced yesterday that “Amtrak trains carried more than 30 million passengers in the past 12 months, the most in one year since the passenger railroad was created four decades ago.” Ridership is up 5 percent over a year ago, and ticket revenue is up 8 percent'.
'However, Republicans in Congress are ready to take Amtrak out at the knees':
'A House appropriations subcommittee passed a bill [in September] that provides Amtrak with $227 million for operations in 2012, down from $563 million in each of the past two years. Amtrak also would get $899 million for capital expenditures, down $25 million'.
'In addition to this 60 percent cut, the bill “would prohibit using Amtrak’s federal funding to operate state-supported train service.” Earlier this year, House Transportation Committee Chairman John Mica (R-FL) “proposed soliciting bids from other railroads for the right to service the 456-mile Northeast Corridor, which is the heart of Amtrak’s operations.”
“Americans are returning to the rails in record numbers, yet Republicans are pulling out all of the stops in their rush to auction off Amtrak’s assets to the highest bidder on Wall Street,” said Rep. Nick Rahall (D-WV).

Caturday at the Kane's
This is Peabody.
I named her after the character in J.D. Robb's (Nora Roberts) 'In Death' series.
She was abandoned in a field behind my place and was just getting her teeth so not weined yet. She's a runt (she's a year +) and an imp.
And this is Zena and Boy-Boy. Boy-Boy is the black one. Zena is the Domme in the house at 8+ years and 16 lbs. and Boy-Boy is the most mellow cat in the World.
It was 'Warming Blanket Day'.
